!! EDIT !!------
updated version here: [link] ------------------ The vixen was young, and yet she could already manipulate energies as expected for one of her kind. True to her blood, she learnt at an early age how to lure in men, and feed off their life force. And yet, she had trouble recognising others of her kind. For other, more mature males of her species were extremely well-versed in the art of concealment, and therefore could remain undetected by their own kin. FULL VIEW PLEASE. I don't usually ask this, but in this case, a lot of detail is lost. Part 1/4 of my lil' Heart series. Made entirely in Illustrator, which is a bit of a first for me (I usually sketch, scan then trace stuff). This time, I jumped straight into Illustrator and started clicking. ...which would probably help explain why the hair and scarf, etc, seem less wavy and realistic than they normally would. |

Silly kids. Rabbits are better than Trix!
What sort of "more" would you recommend I add? I suppose adding more to the BG would be easier, since any more detail to the person risks making her seem too realistic.
...I just browsed your gallery, and you have some awesome stuff! (why are all the talented artists younger than me!? T_T)
i usually feel the same way, too. DA is filled with artists that arelike... amazing at the age of 15. it makes me feel sooo bad.
thanks for the comments about my gallery, lol. (and for the +watch) - my friend had a theory that younger people have more time to practice and perfect their art while older people have university, jobs, etc. maybe that's why.
about your image - i'd suggest adding a LITTLE shading to the woman, just one more shade of pale grey for shadows on the dress, and a darker tan for the fur. perhaps shade her face a little, too. i don't think you'll make her too realistic - it takes a lot of layers to make something look realistic, trust me (i tried, it was painful).
as for the background... i don't know. add a bonfire? some trees? a house? some kind of scenery that makes the image more of a story - adds a location, context?
